I was asked to shoot a girls's GS training camp. I used my Canon DSLR and photoshop to create this composite.

It's a member of the warbler family so I may have heard it before I saw itOriginally posted by Garry View Post
Yes. It is quite wide spread according to the RSPB. But still aren't seen that regularly.
I have listened to some interesting bird sounds in the garden that I still haven't linked to specific bird species yet.

Thanks - this one stayed a good 5 -6 minutes casually dining on the fat balls. Enough time for me to find the camera and the big telephoto lens I have and get a good number of shots in 😁Originally posted by Garry View Post
Blackcap.
Females actually have a brown cap and the male has a Black cap.
Well spotted. Nice to see them in the garden. We had a male Blackcap in the garden two weeks ago. By the time I got to my came4ra, it was gone.
This bird is completely new to me although I read that it's actually quite widespread.

Shot in the garden through the (dirty) patio window a short time ago - no idea what it is except I'm fairly certain it's not a dunnock!

I love the guy in the centre with his mouth open and gesturing 👍😅
He's taking things very seriously!
There are lots of opportunities for photographers at events like this 🙂

As I'm signed off work at the moment (minor op, nothing serious) I've been catching up editing the full sets of gigs and festivals that I shot last year. Between 5-10 of each band are shared at the time, which leaves me a lot of culling to do later. Whilst not up there with a wedding, a 3-day festival can leave me with around 2000 images - I deleted about 20gb yesterday so the hard drive's looking a little leaner! What's proving most popular at the moment are the images I put up of the people I see at a festival. Whilst you get a lot of "can you take my picture? Where will I find it?" (and it's not always possible if you're dashing between stages because there's a band clash and the 3-song rule is being enforced).
The most popular one I posted yesterday was this one: the singer had just asked the audience to sit or crouch down before jumping up when she asked them to do so. Rock fans are often of a "certain age" nowadays so some did and some didn't, but most of the ones at the front obliged. I was standing on the barrier inside the photo pit to get this. It's not the sharpest, but I think it captures the spirit of the event.

I do just that in supermarkets. When you get to my age and can't remember your name you have to record everything that's important.
My phone has many shots of ready meals that I like too.
