Laugh, I couldn't do anything else as Mum helped me win first prizes in this outfit.

I'm not too familiar with the add-on but if t simply fits on the front it could be quite good; no light is lost like a teleconverter. But they can be heavy and bulky.

I wouldn't worry about it, Ron - zooms are not often at their best at the long end of the range. The extreme tele photo you posted - does that use some digital zoom for extra reach? What I'm seeing is a little busy grain in some of the detail; it could be from digital zoom resharpening or it could be noise management.Originally posted by Rodbender View PostNot sure where the artefacts originate from. The zoom is rated as 600mm optical with the option of 1200mm super zoom. Could be the result of in camera software or the fact I always resize before uploading to the forum. I do wonder what sort of results the add on multiplier would produce. Won't be buying one to try as can't afford it for such limited use.

Superzoom cameras have developed remarkably over the years.
You can see some processing artefacts but in the end if getting the picture is the prioroty, without lugging a bazooka with you - why not?

I still can't believe the power and quality of my Panasonic FZ330 bridge cameras zoom lens. Here are two shots taken from the same spot one after the other. Just look at that crane in the far distance, then at the clarity of the zoomed in image. Amazing what?

We planted snowdrops in our garden last autumn and they have popped up in the last few days
In fact we've gone to town with the planting and I'm looking forward to the next few months with new daffs, tulips, bluebells, crocuses, grape hyacinths and some old hyacinths as well.

I like a big strong Americano, normally (if it's being made for me I ask for an extra shot or less added water), but this time I thought - a nice strong espresso
I have an espresso machine at home; nothing expensive and certainly not a pod machine. I also hand-grind my own beans! It's quite a palaver so it ensures I really want a coffee rather than instant, when I was downing 7-8 cups a day instead of mostly 2 a day now.
