Bought a new camera today (Fuji S5 pro)
This is the only shot i've taken so far today .

LOL at Ben again ..... sorry Ben.

He reminds me so much of a mongrel my in-laws once owned. She'd been sold as a Beagle (worra laff!), had enormous feet when she was a puppy so she was named "Flippy" after a Kids Cartoon about a Dolphin -- don't even ask!! As she grew bigger her head grew to the same shape as Ben's, with funny ears on top, like Ben's - and she also had 'goldfish bowl' eyes, like Bens.

She was a real softie, made 'talking' noises that were hilarious, especially when she used to clamber onto my father-in-law's lap and kinda 'talk' to him.

Have fun with that new camera too, though I'm sure you will!

He made that chair his own long ogo , he might look like butter would'nt melt , but you try to move him off of it .

Ok Pol, this isn't exactly a Pembroke Corgi but he's mine and he's paid for

Actually Juice is a Staffordshire / Boxer cross and although he looks like a thug, he is in fact a wonderfully natured, loyal mutt. He's two years old and we rescued him last year (from Manchester Dogs Home) following the death of our beloved German Shepherd, Fred

If I'm honest, he's more of a mummy's boy than Fred was (as the picture here kinda demonstrates...), but he'll lick and then lie on pretty much anyone who so much as looks at him. Stephen will testify to that...

They're much, much harder to train than GSDs (of which we had two before we got Juice), but they're absolutely brilliant pets and great with other dogs and kids alike. My two GSDs were nowhere near as sociable (they don't tend to be in all fairness; aloofness is their main characteristic) but nowhere near as stubborn either...

Because he's larger than a Staffie (he's the height of a Boxer with a Staffie head), the misinformed tend to assume he's a Pit Bull, which means you sometimes see them grabbing their dogs and heading for the exits in fields and parks. However when people approach him and realise he's actually a very friendly, trustworthy sorta fella, they change their tune. The local dog people absolutely adore him, which is a total contrast to when I had Fred, who was vast (even for a GSD) and who attacked ALL dogs without provocation..........

Our last Pembroke Corgi was the usual waddler with legs no longer than 8" (at the most). 'Cow Hocks' from behind (knock knees on corgis). She went for more than just a few huge dogs too. She also liked to nibble ankles and trouser legs, typical Corgi behaviour.

So is Juice named thus because he drips and dribbles?

He he.............no, actually he had been named "Zeus" (I know, I know... ) by his previous "owners" (a term I'm deliberately using loosely - they tried to make him fight...), so I immediately wanted to disassociate him with his past and start afresh.

His colouring is so unusual (almost orange in direct light), so we figured "Juice" would be ideal, particularly as it rhymed with "Zeus" and therefore wouldn't confuse him. So there you go

Nice bit of name tweaking there! I'd assumed he was Brindl but apparently he's an orange Juice then, eh.

Some of my friends used to nickname me "Queenie" because of my Corgis.

He has the brindle markings, however he's more orange than brown (maybe we shoulda called him Dale..........), so the name tweak seemed appropriate

Now, will you be taking tea in your parlour, or would you like cheese on toast in front of the TV...........ma'am?

A beautiful dog & a really great pic. Those eyes are so intelligent! I used to own a Rotweiler Cross Doberman (in South Africa) that had to be put down 'cos of cancer. He was a superb guard dog but soft as putty with people he knew! My housemate called him Vincent (as in Van Gogh...missunderstood)

ah, thats sad, its horrible when we lose our pets. We recently had to put our big black cat Quincy down.

A freind of mine had a cross between a Doby and a Rotty, it was HUGE!

Hello All,

Tommorow around 1pm I am going to have to take this guy to the humane society. He would be good anywhere but in the country. He almost killed a calf when he got of his chain. he had a 25 ft chain attached to a 100 ft run. It Is going to be so sad. But The lady there said she could find a home for him. But the bright side is that we are going to get 2 new puppies, I will still miss good ole' Cowboy!
