    Re: Dogs,Dogs,Dogs

Took the camera on our walk tonight (19.03.2007), so I thought I'd post another shot of Juice into this thread, which has been by far my favourite since joining the site. Like many of us here, I adore dogs regardless of their pedigree or appearance and to see so many expressive and characterful mutts in one place is a real treat

Having rescued Juice last summer following the death of my GSD, Fred, I took him to a specialist last week for a check-up, primarily because I had to leave him in the kennels for a night while my partner and I did a job in Inverness. Anyway, the vet told us that he was almost definitely a bullmastiff cross (more than likely with a staffie), which went some way to explain his size - he's only 18 months old and weighs 6 stone...

Anyway, here he is with his latest stick. My girlfriend was the (momentary) focus of his attention...

I can vouch for that. He really is a great and friendly dog though. He's had my hand in his mouth more than once and never a problem, but you do know it when he sits on your lap

I try not to experience that pleasure too often Pol, although my other half will happily lie on the sofa of an evening with Juice flat out on top of her

However when we're outside and he's bounding around like this, it's advisable to retreat to a safe location (behind a wall........into a ditch..........up a tree...), especially when he's carrying half of that tree in his mouth

Sorry, couldn't resist posting another. I'm so proud

            Nice one! ...... ROFLMAO_PMP

We once looked after a (Dulux) Old English Sheepdog dog for a while and she used to flatten me. There was no way I could get up if she lay on me. She could also knock David over if she decided to jump up to greet him. She was so huge, so tall she'd be looking down on him when she had his front paws on his shoulders.

It was a nightmare trying to take her for a walk 'cos she used to drag me along the field face down. I couldn't let her off the leash 'cos she'd been diagnosed as being almost deaf.

I was very relieved to hand her back to the owner/trainer.

Why the apology, he is a belter Tim! I would posting more than a couple if he were mine.

He looks like he could take you for a walk rather than the other way round! hehe!

                Stunning dog.

(You said this is your favourite thread, for me its the worst, I SOOO want a dog,
and seeing everyones dogs on here makes me so envious!

Keep 'em coming guys and gals!

                  Same here.

I comfort myself and deal with it by stopping people and asking if they'd mind if I took some shots of their dog(s). Nobody has ever refused so far, I've never been bitten, frequently been licked though.

                      How did I miss this.

I simply adore Dobermann Dogs Roger, my absolute favourite breed. One day I really hope to have one myself. I already have a name for mine, Blitz, sadly with my little garden, it simply wouldnt be fair. Maybe one day!

Got any more shots of this regal doggy? And whats his/her name?
We love Dobers too, got three large prints on the wall (sadly not images I took). Also here too we have no room or time at the moment for a dog. May end up getting a Staffie if we buy a house this year as theyre a little smaller. I dont think the cats will be pleased either way

Wahey - more dogs for the ancient but newly revived doggie thread.

I'm still stopping people and asking for permission to photograph their dogs - still getting licked regularly too. I may even post a picci of the gorgeous 'Bruno' - a Golden retriever who was watching his owner cross a carpark to the pay & display machine.

Here's a picture of Bruno. His owner told me he's two years old, daft as a brush and spoiled rotten. I couldn't get him to look at the camera for love nor money (or tempting tit-bit) but I thought he was much too nice to bin just 'cos there's no catchlight.

He's so lucky to have all those dogs and he certainly looks as though he enjoys them all. I bet they're a lot of work though.

I love the expression on the face of the labrador far right at the back. There's always one that looks ready to take off and that's the one.

The old lady that owns this one told me that all she has to do is put the dogs blanket on the ground and the dog will stay put on it till she returns. Here's proof. The owner went off for a rummage around our fete and the dog never moved.
