Re: Dogs,Dogs,Dogs
This is Sam, a young female. I agree with you about the Dobermann, I think that they are the perfect family dog in fact. I worked overseas for about thirty years so looked after literally 100's of dogs for people going on long home leaves, and decided then that I would have them.
I waited until I quit travelling though because the Dob is very special in some respects, and certainly not the dog for a flat or inner city dweller because it needs so much exercise. Very intelligent and so easy to train, very affectionate and has a real need for human companionship and can get bad tempered if they don't have it. You will never be alone if you have a Dob in the house.
There several more pictures of my dogs in my gallery if you are interested, and of course the one attached!

A snowy dog story (or pic, anyway!)
This is Snoopy in her winter coat this morning coming back from her walk. Sorry it's a bit squashed, was leaning out of the dining room window at the time and just caught her before she got to the door.

Oooo I do enjoy a nice bit of rough, thanks! Super!Originally posted by Mike Parr View PostHere a couple of ruffians for you Pol, these two are Harry on the left and Holly on the right.
Harry reminds me of Rufus and he even has his paw ready to take hold of the camera, just like Rufus.
Come to think of it, I haven't seen or heard from Rufus(Laurence) or Jan for ages.
R U there, Doggins? 'Young Pol' is missing you.

Originally posted by coupekid View PostA couple of freinds popped over today with their new rescue dog Rosy.
A black lab. She is super, a little scared because of her past, but she has improved so much in the last three weeks.
She's a beauty and that's a lovely shot.
Our neighbours rescued a black Lab (Lady) when she was about 10 months old and she chewed her way through a couple of their doors and dug a hole in the kitchen floorboards before she finally settled down.
She grew to be the most wonderful dog, very intelligent and perceptive. She died aged almost 14 and half the neighbourhood was broken hearted because she was such a fantastic, gentle playmate for to the neighbourhood kids.
One of the neighbour's chewed doors never did get replaced - it's still just a hole in the wall after all these years.

Re: Dogs,Dogs,Dogs
what a lovely photo of a beautiful dog.
she looks young enough to be able to move on from her past, and labs are extremely intelligent, to be able to get her to stand like that for a photo, she already is doing well.
on a good note though I rescued a dog at 4years old with a few problems, ended up with a fantastic dog I never regretted once for rescuing for the next 12 years.Fp

She is lovely, but painfully shy.
Poor thing slipped in pond when she was round, and ended up cowering for a while, and being scared of the towel!
Heres another shot which I hope you like!
