The mill is open on certain days but not when I was there. I'll try to get back next summer.

No, they are further West, well known for the stone quarried in the region.

A bit too far West! It is the other stone in them that hills! The bay is named after the town where many buildings are constructed using salvaged stone from London, brought back after making deliveries of the new stuff which was used in many famous buildings in the capital.

Is it Swanage (and the Purbeck quarries)?

Yes. This is Swanage, and the stone that was shipped to London is Purbeck stone. There are some ornate entrances in the town made from the salvage from London buildings that were demolished.

                    Over to you, Andrew.

I was wondering if it were Swanage (he says after the event!) but couldn't just bring the name to mind. Old age!

Just take it easy. There's always tomorrow. And if tomorrow doesn't come, you won't have wasted any effort on it.

Thanks, Kurt. I'm thinking about the next one!

BTW, the best bit of salvage is the entrance to the Swanage Town Hall, which was originally the entrance to Mercers' Hall in Cheapside (demolished c.1883) and designed by Edward Jerman just after the Great Fire.

I fear that this may be too easy or too obscure (but nothing in between!). The full answer will be where and what?

If someone more knowledgeable can make this image larger, I'd be very grateful!

Is this too obscure? Is a clue/hint needed? Or are people just busy with Christmas??
