My next entry is a common item, but not always this shape. What is it?

Thank you for the information. Before you buy one of them I must warn you that this way of making tea makes it a bit messy. You have to use really high quality tea otherwise small particles escape from the infuser into the cup. For visually pleasing, beautiful drink bags are better, in my opinion. Taste is another matter: it is a matter of taste/personal preferences.

Sorry about that. I guess I overdid it. I knew a tea brewing spoon was not a common object and not many people had it. To add to the difficulty, mine is very old, I remember it being in my family for as long as I remember myself. I looked on the internet and they were still on sale, so I thought why not?
I'll try to find more widely familiar objects in future.

Geoff, is it some sort of eye shadows or other make up?

            No, not make-up.

My next guess is a pad for rubber stamps. Is it?

                No, not that.

Not many guesses so far so here is another picture taken from a different angle. As I said before, this is a common item but not always this shape. I didn't realise how coarse the fibres are in this item until I got close to it. They normally feel smooth to the touch.

I thought they were carpet samples in a wooden stand

Now I think they look like paint samples, but I doubt that they are...

Another night owl Not carpets or paint, much smaller. Each coloured part is approx 12mm wide so my second image is approx 35mm wide. I've noticed that I've got the colour balance wrong but it is not relevent to this object or objects as they can be various colours.

                          Geoff.

Intriguing, but I haven't got any idea what they or it is.

Some kind of manicure set perhaps??

                              Not a manicure set.

Another clue, I keep this in my office at home, near to the telephone.

Is it your personal telephone notebook/catalog, the one that when you press one of the colour-coded tabs it springs open on the letter needed?
