Quite a few..... got lots of little things (bigger cards, new lens pen.....) - oh yes, and a 10-20mm refurbished Canon lens . At least I won't have to hire one any more!

And got home to find I could have some more portrait sittings and another wedding..... all in all a good day

That's cheating! But yes, you're correct. The end of the Bude sea canal. Don't tell me you've been through all my public photos (2900+) to find that?! It's on page 128

I didn't go through your stuff, I came across it when I Googled "sea lock gates in Cornwall". I will have to look for another picture, although I am away for a few days after tomorrow, so if I don't get one perhaps someone else would like to take up the baton.

OK, here's a new starter - the country is pretty easy but where in the country?

I can see the sense in that but I haven't been to mainland China apart from the New Territories in Hong Kong.

I'd have thought the savvy ones would be using character recognition to work it out...

Nope, but the country in question has been in the news big time today.

Is it on the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route in Japan?

Not heard of that pilgrimage trail but you have the correct country and as the sign suggests it is at altitude...

Oh dear. And I have spent a lot more time in Japan than I have China! Go for Mount Fuji then.

I suspect Mt Fuji is right - I should have thought a bit more about the height listed on the gate!

The Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail links a number of walks around Kyoto - we've only walked a very small section of it, but parts of the trail do look a lot like the photo. I don't think (on reflection) it probably goes as high as 1000m, though.
