I was guessing Greece because of the text on the cardboard box and the people looked Greek, but that is as accurate as I can be as I have no idea where abouts in Greece it is. Judging by the goods on sale I would say that it is in a tourist area.

OK, I think you deserve it - it is Athens, not far from the Acropolis. I took Julia there for here birthday in 2005, which is in early January, so it was sometimes chilly, although in the abundant sunshine it was lovely. Of course Athens is normally known for being hot and, sadly, rather polluted, but not in January! Highly recommended for a winter or spring break.

Here is a shot from our trip to Athens in 2005 - at the theatre of Dionysus Eleuthereus, which is at the base of the sides of the Acropolis.



That's Julia (with very short hair!) in the foreground.

Olympus E-1, with 11-22mm f/2.8-3.5 lens, @11mm (22mm equivalent), 1/400th @f/9, ISO 100. Taken just over six years ago and I didn't shoot in RAW at the time because I was worried about running out of card space!

Thanks Ian, here is a snap taken at a charity cycle ride last October. It is at a well know sporting center. Where is it? (The name of the place was at top of the electronic scoreboard but I've painted it out!)

Yes Audrey, you are correct. (I just noticed that you are from Notts so I expect you have been to this place!).

This is the National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierpoint near Nottingham. There is a long rowing course and also a canoe slalom course which is a good place to go for taking pictures on a sunny day.

Give me a few hours Geoff. I'll have a look at what I have.

I belong to Worksop Photographic Society and many of our members go there to the white water rafting.

I have been there, but not for about 20 years. I just guessed and then googled for Cancer cycle race at Holme Pierrepont and it was there for October.

Well the roads are compatible with the UK and Ireland. It doesn't look like Australia or New Zealand. Looks west country coast - Cornwall?

I reckon you've been in the knife box today Ian. I'd never even noticed the sloping horizon and yet it's the first thing I notice in anyone else's pics.

You would think Robin Hood's Bay should be in Notts, but it is in Yorkshire, and no Stephen, it isn't there ... ... ... but you are on the right track.
