Well done Geoff. It was taken a few years ago. We had never been to Staithes but everybody seemed to paint or take photos of it, so for my birthday I chose to go up to that coast, and we visited Runswick, Sandsend and stayed overnight in Whitby. A pleasant and interesting weekend with beautiful scenery.

I think it was taken from the car park; so over to you once again.

      Thanks again Audrey.
This one is from over 10 years ago, taken with an old Kodak compact camera (I didn't take my SLR to the beach so as not to get sand in it). This was a very nice beach, there is no public road to it so the only way to get there is by boat or a 30 minute walk from the nearest car park so a swim in the sea was welcome to cool off. This was a busy weekend, somedays in the week you could have it all to yourself!
      Where is it?
      Geoff.

It is Minorca (or Menorca as it seems to be spelt recently). But can you be more accurate with the location?
          Geoff.

I have been to Menorca, but must admit that I didn't like it. We tried to get a plane home after the first day - unsuccessfully. We did leave our rented cottage for a hotel in Mahon, which suited us a little better.

However, one place we did like was a little beach which you had to walk to, through some scrubby looking allotments and rather desolate countryside until we found ourselves on a deserted beach.

It was a terrifically hot day but we did not have our swimming gear. However, as we had not seen a soul for ages we thought a dip may be in order. No sooner had my wife got in the water when a couple of boats turned up. She had to make a dash for her clothing! Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the place (if it had a name) but looking at a map it must have been near Mesquida.

Hello Kurt, you are about 20 miles off but as no one else has had a guess I will declare you the winner! The picture is of Pregonda Cove, nearest place on the map is Binimel-la.

I'm surprised that you didn't like Menorca, I prefer it to Mallorca or the Spanish cala's as it is less developed and there are lots of natural beaches that have not been developed with any buildings behind, which is fine if you like beaches!

Over to Kurt for the next picture.

              Regards,
              Geoff.

Thanks Geoff, I guess I wouldn't like Majorca either. I like wandering off the beaten track, so I do like the North of Spain very much indeed.

Here's an easier one, and it is a beach I quite like.

                        Thanks Kurt.

I'm sure most will know 'where this place' is.

No - I agree it does look like it.

Someone out there knows the location.

A further clue - you have to cross some water to get there.
