Well I did manage to get outside for an hour this afternoon, well wrapped up of course. Culled the shots down to 3 for showing here and couldn't decide which to with so.....you have all 3. :-)
The streaks you can see is snow which had just started to fall.
definately have some belters there Pops!
super shots!
the starling is definately my favourite, and I really want to find somewhere to photograph the big flocks going home to roost. So if anyone knows of a spot, let me know!

Used to have a tree close to a previous home that they used to congregate in. Alas the tree is no more and I haven't found anywhere else that's closeby.
A memorable sight indeed when they take off.
Hi Pops, nice shots, you're obviously getting the hang of it!
I was down in Kent today visiting my Mum and watched huge flocks of starlings doing amazing group flying displays over local fields. Reminded me of when I was a kid and you could almost guarantee to see these displays and the gardens were full of starlings - I think they were probably more numerous than house sparrows then. Mind you, don't seem to see as many of them now and I think I've only seen one thrush in the last 3 or 4 years. How times change.
Still haven't managed to capture the wren in my back garden - maybe tomorrow

Thought it was time Cyril popped in again .....
Just wish he would stop chewing for a couple of seconds so I could get his nose sharper. He picks up several nuts at a time and doesn't stop chewing till they are all shelled and eaten.
