Wow, lovely shot Barrie. How far away were you and could the deer see you?

            Hi Gina -

We were quite some distance I was using an Olympus E-3 (My 65th Birthday gift from Anne 12 days ago) with a 70-300 lens. I used A mode F6.3 1/200" iso 400 and a focal length of 120mm.

They not only have amazing hearing but also seem to have good eyesight. They see you before you see them - unless you are lucky.
            -------------------------------------------------------

There are some tame ones that will almost eat out of your hands at Knole Park Kent - well worth a visit. The grounds are quite extensive and the house is worth exploring - steeped in history.

Thanks so much for your comments and I love your reindeer icons.

            Regards. Barr1e

ps The shot above shows they had heard or seen us.

                    Ash -

                    A most pleasing scene.

                    Pedar -

The first and third are my pick of the series. I see an interesting character in another.
