    Re: Assignment Autumn!

The autumn - my busiest season photographically - is almost over and will going back to a lazier mode again soon. Before becoming too lazy, here's one from my recent outing. I'm afraid a bit too dark? Cropped and resized. Taken by 20D on Sept 21st.

Hi Yoshi, good to see you again - I quite like this as the foreground is obviously the shaded side of a hill or incline and the more distant area is bathed in sunshine. I have opened the image to full size - hope you don't mind.

To everyone else, if you click on the picture you can see Yoshi's other autumn pix from Japan.

These relatives of the thistle are over 10 feet high and provide structure in the winter garden.

This is a stunning picture, Barrie. What time of day was it?

Are these artichoke plants by any chance?

                  Thanks so much Julia.

Taken at 09:50 hours. Anne and I had probably walked just over four miles before coming across this scene. Fortunately the sun was just breaking through which not only helped the pic but warmed us too.

I have another from a different location on the estate which I think is a little better than this one and will post it later.

Again, I'm pleased you liked it.

                  Regards. Barr1e

This picture was taken at home, the last autumm-winter (we are now in spring in the southern world). These are the empty branches of my Wisteria sinensis (glicina).

Great photos, but don't forget Jojo's Competition - AUTUMN TO ME - which is currently
                              running.
