    Three Moons of Cornwall

    Thanks for the tips Guys,
This is my first attempt at any night photography, this image was produced using my E500 with the 40-150mm lens, the longest i have, tripod mounted stood on a lonley hillside. This is composed from two images, the only two any good out of many taken.

So are yours mate, very good!

The scope is a 6" reflector, F5 and works out at 750mm, I did not use any eyepieces between the scope and camera I just attached it direct, I have used eyepieces before but would have been too close.

There are a couple of shots taken with an eyepiece in my gallery for comparison if you want a look.

By the way Mike, as your down in Cornwall, you dont suffer from much light pollution (you lucky so and so's!hehe) have you tried a long exposure with the focus on the pole star?

haha! well, give it a go, youll need to put it on 'bulb' mode (if yu have it) and do a VERY long exposure, you end up with long streaky circular stars,

I tried bulb mode last night but I could not get shutter release to fire by hand, got to find my manual...........mind you I cant read it in the dark.......A Bloke was stood next to me last night.........It was pitch black when he pulled up in his car behind me, we chatted while i took pictures. I thought he was a local taxi driver having a skive, turns out as I was leaving His taxi was the type with blue lights on......Im so blind I didnt know I was talking to a policeman for 20 odd minutes .......What chance have I got at phtography!

If it's the same as my camera 300D with infra red remote, to fire the shutter the camera needs to be on timer mode. Took me a while to figure that out when I got the remote I thought the thing was broken.

I know it's not the same make but may be similar how it fires.
