He was looking for Shepherdsgrove Industrial site and came onto Shepherdsgrove retirement park where I live. I ask you do mobile homes look like factories? Spent the night there sinking deeper and deeper. He said he tried to turn round and ended up on a wast bit of ground opposite my home. Took them 3 hours to dig and pull his lorry out. Helped us pass the time away watching them.

Thanks for the info Mikew. We know them as Ring-neck doves. Noisy beggars. Living where I do (woodland area) we get loads of them on our feeders. .

Lovely capture, i have a soft spot for those they were the first birds i kept as a child, at that time they were called Barbery doves and were not cheap to buy, the stories go they spread here from Europe but myself and many other breeders released them in late 50s as they bred to well in captivity and it got so you couldn't sell them.
