Is the plastic netting over the pots to keep squirrels out? I've had them digging out the bulbs - though I wouldn't have thought a squirrel would eat them? I guess they could also be digging to store or speculatively look for other things.

Did you build your greenhouse, Ron? I built ours last summer - what a palava! Got it done in the end but it was so confusing because the instructions were really bad (not just my incompetence! )

Yes Ian a bit of our defences. You would think living in the country was ideal, not so. We have squirrels 24 7 and dear once or twice a day robbing us of our plants. We love the birds but feeding them attracts rats from the surrounding farms where they rent out fields for hourse grazing. It's a very picturesque place to live but you have to put up with the down side of being so close to wildlife. Greenhouse was here when we bought the place.

Sounds very destructive, Ron. I have seen the damage that a group of deer cause, when passing through a garden, where I have worked in the house, of that garden. Not a plant left.
