I've long been a fisheye fan - I managed to find an 8mm manual focus Samyang a couple of years ago in a pawn shop (CEX).

I've mostly used it for music where it's been effective, at times. After a fall in a photo pit it's got a nasty scratch, but it really only affects day time shots. Night or stage shots are fine, and it can easily be cloned out. Unfortunately the lens is too old to repair.

Most of the time I correct extreme distortion (and at 8mm there can be a lot) but sometimes leave it, as in the shot below where I was lying on the floor of the photo pit and shooting straight up to include the hands of the fans.,

A fisheye lens has often been on my mind. They are for creative, artistic work. I have seen good examples. One day. Maybe I will get one.

Actually no. You do need to hold it very steady. Your question prompted me to put together a short video explaining how to get the effect.
