Doh! For some reason I was dismissing Norfolk. It must be Wells-next-to-the-Sea! It is many years since I visited, probably the 1970s. That time there was a power-boat race on and the noise was horrendous, as well as the place looking rather run down.

Stumped! I thought the next port up the coast from Southwold was Lowestoft which I wouldn't describe as small.

It may be between Southwold and Walberswick. There is a channel there, but it is a while since I visited.

Is it the Cathedral in Lausanne, Switzerland? I think the end opposite the steeple looks a bit like this.
