That's not the only odd thing about this memorial: the cannons are 'mounted' on what looks to be a Chinese 'wheel', but it's totally impractible in artillery terms! Also, the 'Canton Bell' hanging under the tower is a reproduction, as the original went back to the the Regimental base in Preston.

Indeed they do, but the feature in the centre is unique in Britain.

Correct, Graham. The unique bit is the hemispherical protector at the end of the caponier. Darrell's Battery (WW2) is in the background.

I'm fairly sure I've walked past this but cannot place it. Looks like a restaurant behind the phone box.
Next guess is Clerkenwell Green. I've got another option to try if that's wrong.
