After 4 days' deafening silence, some more clues:
1. It is in England.
2. The original parish church is in the park beside the 'big house' and contains family monuments of national importance.
3. This church was built in the village c.1914.

The church looks like Lutyens and I'm fairly sure I came to a major rock festival here some 35 years ago.

Correct, Mike. It's St Martin's church, designed by Lutyens, who married one of the Lytton family.
