Re: Challenge: Where is this? IV

I'm guessing it may be one of the 'Armed Forces Day' jobs. No idea where though, must admit.

Not Armed Forces day, although it was a tribute

Is it in the Europe? Googling high-rise swing roundabout takes me to Texas!

Re: Challenge: Where is this? IV

I've seen one of those high-rise swing things in the Netherlands but it was much bigger.
I'm going to hazard a guess at a pop festival and say Glastonbury.

Kurt - it is in Europe.

Andym - close, but it's not Glastonbury

Re: Challenge: Where is this? IV

Now I'm stuck, you mentioned it's a tribute so I'll go with Tribfest in Yorkshire.

If not I think we might need another clue.

Re: Challenge: Where is this? IV

Now I've had another thought, looking at your location this is quite close. Is it Glastonbudget in Liecestershire.

                  No and no Andy..

Another clue? One of the pilots was performing at the festival that night with his band.

Re: Challenge: Where is this? IV

Time for another clue - not in my neck of the woods, but about 1 1/2 hours away (at most, allowing for getting lost/turning in wrong direction).

Tribute probably led you the wrong way - it was a tribute to WW1.

The singer (who was also flying) paid to close down the local airfield so that this could take place, and it's close to the A1(M).

                    Does that help?

Was it Sonisphere at Knebworth? I'm guessing the singer is Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden at least.

Spot on, and over to you. DSLR's weren't allowed (unless you had a press pass, and I got turned down).

I took a Canon G12, but with only 5x zoom it couldn't cope because no way was I going to fight my way down to front for a lot of the bands due to the mosh pits I expected to see (and did!)

I took a couple of shots of Maiden on the Saturday night with Dave's TZ10 and he just handed it to me on the Sunday and let me get on with it!

G12 now for sale - I get so frustrated with the darn thing and have an EOS-M which I love.

No guesses yet? Do I need to provide a clue?

Ok then, a river runs by it.

Judging by the deafening silence I suspect that another clue is needed.

                              It's in Eastern England.

Silence from me because I'm absolutely stumped!

From the background, is this somewhere in the Fens?
