Looks like a hair trimmer to me. Only I can't imagine it as a romantic gift, so, probably this is not it...

You are very close Svetlana but I am looking for a more specific answer. (The clue about a romantic gift was given with a bit of sarcasm, my wife's idea of romantic may not be the same as other people's idea of romantic)

Is it what they call hygienic hair trimmer or nose trimmer?

That it correct! It is a sign of getting old when someone buys one of these for a present

Over to you Svetlana for the next image.

Very sorry for taking so long. Holidays plus enormous backlogs at work I had to get rid of ASAP left me no time for anything else .

Anyway, here is my next picture. This is a tiny bit tricky and very simple at the same time if you can imagine such combination.

Looks to me, a lot like a pine cone. Maybe as it's the time of year the colouration and "metalised" look is an added surface coating to give it a festive look. So: Part of a center piece decoration or something equally Christmassy

Well, that was fast ! Of course, you got it right, it is a pine cone as a Christmas tree decoration.

                Happy New Year, everyone!

                And over to Graham
