Someone has emailed me to say, basically, that he doesn't want to be seen to be busy using the forum just to get a chance to win the prize. I respect that, but the point of the promotion is to get everyone to use the forum, so don't feel that you should hang back - I am actively trying to persuade new members to discover the benefits of our forum and gallery and to coax existing members back to rediscover things here.

I thought the same at first but, without this promotion, I wouldn't have got over my embarrassment about posting my photos (which are in the shadows compared to all you guys). My point being that this promotion encouraged me to post that which I might not otherwise have posted.

As it turned out, the "five photos and ten posts" critera is easily achievable without "just posting for the sake of it". There's plenty here to comment on or discuss and, if there's nothing to suit your taste, you can always post a topic of your own.

Well something must have worked as we had our busiest day (yesterday) in terms of members logging in since August 2008

We also had more new threads started in one day since May 2011, and more new posts in one day since the forum opened in September 2006

We also had 231 images uploaded to the gallery yesterday - about 10x more than usual.

I'd really like to build on this - there were so many interesting images and comments and discussions and it's all down to you

The prize draw will take place later today and I will announce the winner before the end of the day.

No need for commiserations, it was great to be in with a chance in the first place!
