As previously announced, Tom Holle is our winner this month. Tom is a retired firefighter. This is what he said about himself:

"I was a member of the Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Dept. for 30 years and retired about 19 years ago. I have always liked taking pictures but started putting a lot of time into it the last 5 or 6 years. For the most part I don't seem to be able to see the big picture and end up with photos of the smaller things that make up my world: flowers, leaves, individuals in a group, most all locally. I have photographs displayed at a local co-op gallery in Parkville, Missouri, and also many photos on my facebook page."

You can see Tom's gallery here on DPNow at:

    Well done Tom!

Any chance it can be November's prize, too?

Thank you to Ian and this forum and to all the wellwishers. In all fairness I must confess that this event took place on my birthday which made it all the sweeter.

Congratulations Tom I am sure I am not the only one who is looking forward to your posts using the XZ-2. And it will be very interesting to read your impressions of the camera as well.

    Regards.

Gutted it wasn't me, but congrats to the winner! Enjoy!

It worked inasmuch as I've come back to the forum and will check in at least weekly; schedule permitting.

Commiserations to the rest who were unlucky, but I do have some more rewards to distribute during November, so there is some hope yet for you

    Ian
No need for commiserations, it was great to be in with a chance in the first place! Also, the competition provided a lot of interest and created significantly more activity on the forum, so in that respect we are all winners! However, special congratulation to Tom and a big thank you to Ian and Olympus
