I dropped my camera this morning, on to the road.
The camera body seems to be okay thankfully, apart from a couple of scratches. The lens, though, is behaving weirdly!
It's an 18-135mm lens, and at about 100mm it now suddenly 'clicks' and goes out of focus. The autofocus is really struggling too. Because I'm stupid I don't have it insured for accidental damage, so I suppose it's new lens time.
So I'm now in the market for a new lens! The camera is a Nikon D80, the lens I've broken is an AF-S Nikkor 18-135mm. It was the kit lens that came with the camera, but I really liked it! Any suggestions as to what replacement I should go for? I want about the same focal range, and I don't mind paying a few hundred quid for something decent. This time, though, I'm getting it insured!
