    Re: Aerial Photography

Nice to see you have put these photos up at last Jem. The second one just shows how wide our Island is. Not sure did you have one of town and the sea front ?.

I took shots from the second we took off to when we landed ..... had arm ache trying to hold the camera still !!
We did a sort of figure of 8 round the islands, so have the whole coast,, Lihou, Herm, Shell beach .... St Peter Port with an visiting Cruise Liner ....

The only downside being a couple of marks on the window of the plane, and the wing tip getting in the way a few times, but nothing that Photoshop can't fix

One of these days I'll get round to stringing them all together for a short flic film....... something for the weekend !!

I'll dig out dome more and post them up.

        Re: Aerial Photography

We were invited to a friend's house in Reading. Actually he was the new partner of our friend (both had been widowed).

There were 12 of us and he had a swimming pool and a Cessna.

His son took us up in the Cessna (3 trips, I hasten to add) and at one point handed the controls over to me. I don't think I managed more than one minute before I handed them back. I did do a few turns and pulled this way and that with the joystick?

I also took a few pics.

On the airfield the day was sunny with blue sky and puffy clouds, but we had a heavy shower whilst flying.

It was over the Reading area. I was using a point and shoot Canon Powershot G3.

        We stopped for fuel ... ... ...

Yes I did, but it was 5 years ago and when Mike asked if anyone had done any I couldn't find my cd. Anyway I found it at the side of my husband's computer tonight!

I have a lot. I will try to sort some more out and tidy them up.

PS, there are some stunning pictures in this thread, check out the first page, the picture of the blue mountins and also find the link to the video that is mentioned. There are some amazing pictures posted there if you take the time to have a look through it is well worth it.

                  Hi Ekkl

For some reason the pics I inserted on Friday are missing so I am putting them on again here:

Although I am not from the Reading area, I do believe I remember the pilot saying we are stopping at Popham for fuel. It's quite a memorable name.

I have put a few more in my gallery clink on the link below if you want to see them.

You can run them as a slideshow within the gallery if you want. There is plenty of reflection on the windows, but I can't drive and take pics now, can I?

I was going to say that you could view the settings, but I can't see the exif. Has that facility been removed?

For those that are interested in the exif data you can download a free viewer from http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/index.html Once downloaded do a restart and from then onwards just right click on any image and the exif data will be shown. This works with most images provided the posted has not opted to remove the information when re-sizing and saving. Also saves you going to the gallery to view the exif.
PS it works on the images in this post.
