    Well, if you do decide to upgrade the whole machine, the ram may be compatable with the new one, and certainly wont do it any harm!

      Just to let you know I installed 2 x1gb ram chips today and I'm now multi tasking to beat the band with no messing about. So will put on hold the big upgrade for another while. What I have now is fine.
