I was slow in following her path more surprised really that she was coming in so fast and missing the full bird.

Excellent pictures from the others here and on e-group which I can't match but this sequence is quite pleasing. It's the actual moment when the falcon takes the lure, camera was running at about 10 frames/second, 1/1000 sec, f10, ISO 1000







This was the first real test of my Sony A7 (I know it was an Oly day but they let me sneak in because I have an Olympus baseball cap). It was a great day and I learned a lot, both about BIFFING and about the camera.

I did find my only Sony lens was a bit slow on autofocus, it's primarily a video orientated 18-200mm (27-300mm efl as it only covers APS format) superzoom. I wish in retrospect that I had used the video more, the brief movies I took were quite promising though not worth putting on the forum. There's a lot to learn there.

Hi Mike -

It was quite a day. I found it to be most enjoyable, especially being so close to the birds/nature.
I learnt much which made it fun.
Our teachers for the day were knowledgeable and so caring for our feathered friends.
