  • Can't wait for Sunday!

Really looking forward for this weekend. The Olympus crew from our e-group site are meeting up at Fens Falconry, Wisbech (Cambs) on Sunday for an afternoon photographing birds of prey and the stars have aligned so the weather forecast is mild, dry and even sunny!

Can't wait to post some shots...

Not to worry watching rugby today, at a friend's tomorrow. Forcast for Monday & Tuesday good so I can fit a new cat to Jill's car ready for MOT next week.

You have really excelled yourself with these Ian. They are all superb. Thought 1 and 4 were coming through the screen.
Was that a crash landing in next to last?

                      Hi Ian -

A fantastic day. Thanks to you and Andy Elliot and the very kind staff at www.fensfalconry.co.uk for making it so.
I learnt lots and will have to make a return visit to get a few more keepers. I'm pleased with some from the day and will post more as and when I get through the cards.
The Olympus OM-D E-M1 coupled with the 50-200 lens I thought were perfect for the day. The two pix below were taken in either A.mode or Manual settings.

I really love the Ural Owl portraits you have done, Barr1e

That chick looks a lot less cuddly with its gob open like that

BTW Pretty sure it's a Harris Hawk chick - something to do with the parents coming from a desert environment and unusually for prey birds they are quite reproductive.

                          Hi Ian -

                          Thanks so much.

I have just finished mowing the postage stamp. No surprise to see the moss after the recent rains.

Thanks for correcting my mistake regarding the chick, I'll pop off and correct the details in the gallery.

                          Regards. Barr1e

No need for me to do any mowing - it's all died The rain was so bad that it pooled for several days at a time, something I have never seen in our garden in the 20 years we have been here.

You certainy got a top set of pictures from this one, Ian. Mostly down to the photographer of course, but it does lay to rest the notion that the E-M1 can't cope with birds in flight!
