I was very optimistic about voice recognition software over ten years ago and as I can routinely write several thousand words a wee - and even in a day - there was good reason to be enthusiastic. I think I have a mild inflammation of my wrist because of keyboard and mouse use right now.

The problem was that voice recognition got about as good as 95% accurate but the final 5% was still slowing the process down too much. So I haven't tried it for a few years - I might try it again

I also had a quick play with win7 voice rec and it worked well. You do need to train yourself to use it with non text entry progs, but I think with a little bit of use, it'd soon become 2nd nature.
