I'm not totally familiar with Barrie's particular drone but I had a DJI Spark for a while and that had a number of automatic flying modes - so it could follow you, circle around you, fly away and up, fly in a spiral outward, things like that - and of course you can video record at the same time.

As most of us know in the UK the weather has been most unkind of late and my drone has sat beside me (it seems) forever near my desk.

However, it seems the law on fliying drones will be updated in a couple of months time - those with cameras will require the pilot to take and pass the CAA Drone or model aircraft operator ID examination.
So a few days ago after reading and digesting the rules on flying a drone etc I suddenly decided to sit it. Anne sat beside me to make sure I had interpreted the questions correctly. Pleased to say I passed.
All I need now is for the weather to improve.

ps It is an online exam.

Barr1e Can ayou tell us a bit about what is involved? Is this an online test or do you need to go to an examination centre?

One of my neighbours was breaking numerous regulations the other day by flying a drone in the neighbourhood. It had a full view my property without permission - I went outside, stared at it and it quickly descended; I could probably have found the bugger...

I'm so conditioned not to break rules I haven't flown my drone for months.

You may gain much information from the two links below:

              https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/

              https://dronesafe.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Drone-Code_October2019.pdf
