Thornam Creek is a muddy little creek near Hunstanton in Norfolk but it is quite photogenic with a flint built shed, abandoned boats and several moorings. Lots of birds including avocets and, yesterday a pair of kingfishers. I have seen several pictures posted on various forums (fora for the Latinists amongst you) of the shed and boats. Pictures of the creek appear regularly in photographic and art exhibitions, indeed sometimes it is hard to take a picture without trampling on the odd artist (and many are VERY odd)
Just a liitle way from the shed is a long abandoned wharf and the old posts, all grey and heavily weathered, some pierced for cross beams, are a natural for dramatic shots. Like the shed, these posts also often feature in art exhibitions against various imaginative skies.
Over the years I have taken dozens, if not hundreds, of shots of these posts. I have never been satisified enough with any shot to bother printing it, let enough having it as the exhibition shot that I am sure is there somewhere.
So here is a mini challenge for those of you who have visited and photographed Thornham - impress me with a dramatic shot of the old wharf posts.
Those who live in more exotic places please feel free to chip in with similar old wharf pictures to add to the fun.
