I've walked past it in several directions over the past few decades (and abseiled down it about 150 years ago )

OK, I don't think this should be too difficult...

    (sorry for the width)

Realise I'm a bit late to the party on this but Dennis was wrong on that one. It is actually Derwent Reservoir, Ladybower is downstream and the dam doesn't have the twin towers.

Well if nobody else is having a guess at this one I'll have a go, its looks like Wimpole Hall the NT property in Cambridgeshire.

Thanks for pointing that out. I must admit I wrongly think of them as one and the same. I am attaching a couple of pics taken on the same day for clarification.

I could be totally wrong, but that looks like it's taken from the top of the hill in Lynton, looking down on to Lynmouth.

If I'm right, you can just see the Rhenish tower popping up behind the top bridge.

Thanks Martin. I know it very well, an ex-partner's mother lives there... and I've walked down (and up) that hill several times - much prefer taking the railway: as you can see from my shot, it's almost vertical there!!

I'll put something up tonight as I'm on my netbook at work with no access to my photos...

As my last entries have been from Europe (Belgium and a couple from different regions of France) I thought I'd try something closer to home this time.

Don't think this should take you too long...

I think it's Canon's Ashby, but it's ages since I've been and even after a dig around Google images i remain a bit uncertain!

Spot on Drmark. I cheated as it's a slightly unusual angle: taken from down at the bottom of the garden, by what's known locally as the "lion and lollipop" gate.

I see it at least 10 times a week as I drive to and from work.

Here's something slightly different. I chose the shot not for its photographic qualities but to make sure it had the right balance of clues and (I hope) no giveaways.

Aircraft buffs will probably get this right away but, for everyone else, where (and what) is this?

                              Anyone want a clue?

I'm thinking Duxford - but as to the aircraft, I don't have a clue!
