As always some great people shots Audrey. They are so colourful too. I just love how you are able to get so close to these artisans without making them feel self concious or shy away from the camera

Nice candid set there, the type of place I would just be in my element, with images springing up everywhere, did you come across anybody objecting to the photography?
      cheers

The weaver on the right in pic number three looks so much like the lady boss of our local chinese restaurant.

Three very good images and as Stephen has said so colourful.

          Thanks for your comments.

The picture of the lantern makers, is one of three.

On the first one, the girl saw me and I got the back of her head, whilst her workmate was looking at the camera, but this is the closer of the images which I caught just as she turned around.

As you can see she is not very pleased at having her photoggraph taken, but I was walking down a main street (so to speak) with people doing their stuff everywhere.

It was VERY colourful and there were images everywhere I looked just waiting to be taken.

These were taken in Feb this year, on an Asian Cruise starting from Hong Kong and calling at Vietnam, Taiwan, Sanya (China). The visits were only for a day in each place as the ship called into the port. The only place we stayed for longer was in Hong Kong where we had a 2 night stay initially and 1 night finally.

It was a very colourful and interesting cruise and I consider myself to be very fortunate that now I am retired we are able to visit all these places.

Lovely pictures, I have a friend who is out there teaching for a year and he sends me some great snaps of the countryside.

I think you could be right there Paul. With my Fuji or the G3 I just have them around my neck and shoot from the waist through the tilt and turn screens.

I have remembered that was another reason why I was shying away from a DSLR, because I couldn't pre view the scene through the LCD screen.

If I put my Fuji up to my eye it is very obvious. Of course I do shoot using the optical viewfinder sometimes but you are more easily spotted.

There is always the Olympus E-3 - but the pennies needed have to be saved first. I hope to get one for my 65th and one of its selling points is the screen which can be turned almost every which way.

Ah! That sounds like my sort of camera! I thought I had read that there were some DSLR's with a pre view and if it turns every which way, it would be just the job.

Your candid shots are great Audrey. They are certainly colourful! It's always so nice to see people's overseas shots here! Thanks for sharing! I hope that a few photos from my next trip will turn out half as decent! Italy here I come!
