Re: Jolly Boys (and Girls) Outing to Lake District
Heres another of Lodore falls. This is the one i was taking in Ians photo of Stephen and I. What you can't see is my tripod was in about a foot and half of water.
Re: Jolly Boys (and Girls) Outing to Lake District
This is another shot taken at Castlerigg. Its a single exposure, not an HDR, but processed in Lightroom to inject more mood and give it a feeling of foreboding. The out of the camera shot is just a little ordinary. Mind you if I'd had any naked dancing witches I might have put those in too
This is another panorama taken at Blea Tarn. Though it doesn't look that wide, there are infact 6 shots taken in portrait mode with a good overlap.
This is a very nice shot, but it kind of makes the tarn look like a much bigger lake. For that reason I much prefer first one. But I suppose that's because I was there

I'm still picking out the odd shot from the trip and found this one taken overlooking Upper Langdale. Again I've processed it totally in Lightroom to give it a different feel, its not HDR and hasn't been tonemapped, I rather like it though I'm sure its not to some peoples taste

I like it - I like the 'Olde Worlde pictue book illustration' feel about it ..... if you know what I mean.
I've also been meaning to mention that I especially like your latest Lodore Falls picture - the one with the bracken cascading down in line with the water.

Thanks Pol, I've just done another one of the same place but in Landscape mode, I realised as I looked at it, that it was a tad cold, so have tweaked the WB and I think its better.
I really have been amazed in recent months just how much can be achieved in Lightroom, without using PS at all. V2 when released will allow masking which will be good, though apparently not layers.
With the Lodore Falls shot I did feel the bracken added much to the image.

I think this is absolutely fantastic and I have looked at it for ages.
I love the intensity of the foreground and I like it for having only a short section of middleground before the eyes start making out the texture and terrain of the hills. The low cloud finishes it off nicely
Re: Jolly Boys (and Girls) Outing to Lake District
Many thanks for your comments Pops. This shot taken from the same area but in Landscape is a little warmer and was taken from a lower angle therefore emphasising the foreground. The parts are the same but in a different order
