Chinese new year that is. 2008 - year of the Rat.
a photo taken last night from the Lion Dance forming part of the CNY celebrations at my favourite Chinese restaurant.

The motion blurring is by design to try and emulate some of the dynamism as the lion dances through the restaurant. The eagle eyed may spot the lettuce dangling from the ceiling. This is devoured, along with the red envelopes, by the lion before spitting the lettuce back out again. The envelopes, containing money, are kept by the lion.

The glass is the same whatever the mount. Interesting you mention the distortion, as I read a review on Ephotozine about the 12-24 which is the one that will fit my camera, and it said barrel distortion was very well controlled being well below the acceptable limits apparently it doesn't become visible to the human eye till it reaches -1.5% and this lens gave a reading of -1.13% at the 12mm end
