Hi Jocelyn, again. Tasmania is known here as a awfully photogenic place for landscape and animals and maybe others. Many including myself want to someday go there for photographing - and your words further added its attractiveness - as I enjoy eating as well.

Yoshi, Tasmania is superb for landscapes etc. There's a joke that people visiting Tasmania can see the whole country in 3 days flat, but in my mind, each place needs at least a couple of days! Cradle Mountain is fantastic. Wine glass & Coles bay superb. Freycinet peninsula..the East coast in particular is wonderful! I would love to live in Hobart, the capital. As in most unspoilt places, where there aren't millions of people, there isn't much work to be found unfortunately! The Gordon River near Strahan, a little fishing village, has a lot of tannin in it, so the reflections are incredible! If you take the Gordon River Boat cruise, there are so many wonderful things to see, plus good food on board & dolphins that come swim alongside the boat near the mouth of the river! Of course, there has to be good weather & unfortunately, when we visited the weather wasn't that kind!! When we were there, they had very recently had a number of whales come in & had beached themselves to everyones dismay! The historical sites near Hobart are quite amazing, where penal colonies were set up....people that Britain sent out at her Majesty's pleasure! You would love Tasmania for its diverse photographic opportunities! (and the great food) Tasmanian salmon is good & so are the cheeses!
Jocelyn, thanks a lot for the kind guidance. It helped me a lot as I had no idea at all at the moment. While reading it, I have just finished my quick tour to Tasmania - Hopefully I can take pix of Tasmania for myself near future.
