Re: Heron caught in fading golden light
The colours in the reflection are fantastic. Really makes a nice contrast to the Heron. This is one of those birds I would love to get a picture of. Saw two yesterday flying together but was no where near ready to get a picture.
Best Regards

Re: Heron caught in fading golden light
I was returning to the office as it was getting a bit too dark for pictures and as I crossed over one of the canal (Grand Union in Apsley) bridges, there he/she was. Next thing I knew it was on the opposite bank and I had time to set up the shot, knowing it would take off again as it was on the path side of the canal. Sure enough, but after what seemed a never ending wait with the focus locked and finger on the buttonOriginally posted by Josh Bear View PostThe colours in the reflection are fantastic. off it went as some people approached. Took 6 frames, but this was the only one worth showing.

I love the 'arty' appearance of this image. The colours and background reflections are very pleasing imo.
I was watching a Heron from the opposite side of a busy road a week or so ago, parked in a layby on a bend. It seemed well settled on the bank but just a tad too far away so I decided to get out, asked David to help me hobble across the road safely with the kit and get closer as there was a good fence and gate to rest on.
We made it safely over, got into position and it took off just as we were ready to start shooting.
