Just got a bee house up. Had one last year and spent hours watching them take up residence, lay their eggs and seal the holes.
They don't mind me at all and I stand just a couple of feet away.

Re: Checking out the bee house
I guess these are solitary bees? Looks fairly straightforward - you need some bamboo cut into lengths

Re: Checking out the bee house
You can buy a bee 'house', bee 'hotel' or bee box at Amazon.co.uk. They have various names and they're also inexpensive - anything from about £7 to a tenner or thereabouts.Originally posted by Ian View PostI guess these are solitary bees? Re: Checking out the bee house
Buy or build! just a framework cut to size with lengths of bamboo cane inserted. Ensure there is a short overhang at the front.Originally posted by Wee man View PostMay build one any advice?
If you are going to put one up it needs to be in place by the end of this month.-------------------------
