I've just returned from a couple of days photographing shore and seabird on the Northumbrian Coast. The weather was bright for a short while and then became slightly overcast. Unfortunately most of my shots were taken in the late afternoon owing to the state of the tides but, although I thought I could have done better, I am happy that I have a few keepers. A lot of the birds were some distance, up to 200 metres offshore - especially the sea ducks who never come closer than 100 metres, so quite a few were taken using the Canon 400mm f5.6 plus the 1.4 TC on the E-M1. Some of the birds actually on the shore are using the 75-300mm.
