  • Shoveler....

....lives up to it's name. The drake is one of our most beautiful ducks, a real pleasure to see them "shovelling"

I would be very happy with these results using the canon 400mm lens. would you say that the M-1 is a great improve compared to the M-5? John.

I think the most important improvement is the quality of the image in the EVF, which greatly assists in manual focusing. Focus peaking also helps occasionally. I'm not sure I can see much difference in IQ but I get more keepers when using MF.

Thanks David did you use EOS-M4/3 adapter? I think that IQ is better, not knowing what percentage of crop you made colours are brilliant.

Yes I used the dumb adapter with diaphragm. However with this lens the diaphragm can cause vignetting which is not so much of a problem if you intend to crop. The crop on these is about 1:2 (50%).

50% crop that is very good.
