Good on you Pol! I see you managed to drum up interest very quickly as expected! A challenge is always great! My question still stands though to Ian & moderators etc, what happened to the idea of the 'challenges' where a photo posted for 'improvement' using editing skills! It gave forum members etc a chance to practice & learn or hone their photoshop/paintshop skills!

Aaah - I think maybe you mean those 'fix me up' competition pictures that Ian occasionally posted on the front (home) page HERE.

If so - they aren't forum features but front page features for anyone to work with. Not just forum members.

The front page is entirely Ian's. The moderators (Stephen and coupekid) aren't involved with what happens on the front page nor do they have any sort of access to the content. They simply help out with the smooth running of the forums. I think you probably need to ask Ian personally about any front page features.

          Is that right Stephen, Ian?

Thats about the size of it. Though there is nothing to stop a photo being posted in the gallery so that people can download it, play with it, and repost. I'm rubbish at anything creative in that field, but can usually just do more general photo manipulation ok

Yes, you are right there Pol, it was on the Front Page & Ian's baby! They were fun! It would be interesting to know how much interest it brought in from the lurkers, as it did give more scope for anyone to participate! However, far easier for members to do just as you have done! Setting challenges this way is reminiscent of fishing.....put the bait on the hook & wait see what bites!! (It's a great sport!)

                Jocelyn,

How about starting something in "Software Solutions" or 'Photoshop Permutations' (which is a sub forum within software solutions).

I was thinking more about getting something going in there for getting peeps talking about ways and means of improving the post processing of their photos - digital darkroom skills.

If I had my way I'd rename the Software Solutions forum "Fix Me Up" (post processing skills) but hey ..........
