Re: Fortnightly Salon Competition No17 - Generations

Thanks jds, it was taken with my trusty Kodak 6490 which I've now handed down to my 19yr old son. It's a shame the lighting wasn't a bit better or I was a bit better with photochop, it's a bit dull at the top.

      [QUOTE=Tom;16375]My entry for this one.

Nice one ..... the black and white really sets the mood. Unusual angle ...
... not living in London, and a rather vague memory, been racking my
brain as to where you took it from ?

Spooky ..... Peter was only saying to me that same view yesterday afternoon !!

Lovely colour in the trees ....

I have another brother-in-law who is composing a family tree, so he spends a morbid amount of time in graveyards ...
... (we keep telling him to get out more)

Are those all benches around the tree ?
Seems an odd place to have a them

RESULTS of the Fortnightly Salon Competition No17 - Generations

Sorry ... had a busy day, can't wait till midnight !!

Well .... after much thought .... several cups of coffee, the odd cream cake, and a couple of printouts .....

In 3rd place ... Paul.R.W ... with a great 'historical' photo of four generations of smiley faces .... one for the family album for years to come ....

In 2nd place ... Pewidane ... with an evocative picture taken when the world looked decidedly different. I'm not sure if it's the history, or the lined face of the man who 'knows', or of the 'innocence' in the little girls face, but this one really 'works' for me ...

... anyway ... and now .... (at last they say !)

1st place, and with a 'classic' 'hands of time' shot ... GINA ... CONGRATULATIONS

I picked this one because it is what I would call instantly recognisable as a 'generations' photo. It was the first thing I thought of when picking the subject, so congratulations once again ...

You have the honour of naming the next Salon Theme! Don't forget to attach the rules when posting title!

May I just say that I was impressed with all the pictures ... Stan's birds, and Ladaman98 only just missed out .... even Vernons computer parts, and Burry's lake, or even Autumn's Sphinx, also Blithe and Tom for the architecture. They all represent a subject 'seen' from a different 'angle' by the taker.
It goes to show that whenever you look at a photo, it can be interpreted in so many ways by diferent people. ...... I know what I mean anyway !!

I have been following this salon, even though I did not enter.
amazed at the different images that people have entered that says the theme.
That is what is so great about salons veryone interpretations.

well done on judging it jds9000, and well done to the winners and all
