Anyone who has painted or drawn will understand the feeling.

I am finding this a very difficult challenge Andrew. I see your blank canvas and I am not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean you are all inspired to start drawing or do you mean you have reached a plateau? My husband does more painting and drawing than have ever done, but he is going through a "blank" period. I just showed him your "Favourite Thing" to try to inspire him again. I have just packed his art "things" as we go to Cuba shortly and I hope this reinspires him.

I wish I could think of my favourite thing. I get most pleasure from my cameras and computer, as the end is infinite, but I would feel such a moron to submit a picture of my cameras or computer; so I think I will skip this challenge. I am also packing

Sorry Stephen, I hadn't seen your entry when I wrote the above

.....sometime later ... ... I have now looked at your picture Stephen and it is very clever, well thought out and produced. Well that does it, I can't do a computer now.

Its that feeling you get when you have a blank canvas or a page if your a writer and that first mark you put down. A feeling of excitement and sometimes fear. Hope you have a great time in Cuba one place id love to go to.

AAAhhh Stephen! I truly admire your work! I'm really blown away by this one! I'm sure hp would love it for their advertizing! Now, to me this pic is an outright winner, but I'm not the adjudicator! Very eyecatching!

I know, I know, but I am still trying to work out how you did it. It is so dynamic!

(You learn something new everyday - I thought I was clicking on "More" to see if there was a 'Creeping' Smilie, but by mistake I clicked on "My Pics" and all my pics came up without folders. I didn't know this view was available. It is much easier to see what it is one's gallery this way.)

Results from pottery classes I took my daughters to many moons ago. And they are my favourite thing(s).

                          Re: Fortnightly Salon Competition (No.11)

It's not much. It's not expensive. It's not very big but it means the world to me.

I don't have much here that's mine since I'm still not an officially landed immigrant in canada. Most of my stuff except a couple suitcases full are still packed up back in Green Bay, Wiscosin.

But I made sure to wear this on my way here last year.

                          This is my mothers necklace.

Last year, a few weeks before I came to Canada, she decided to give me this necklace for good luck. She immigrated to the states when she was 20.

The necklace and charms had been hers since she was a young teen in Colombia, South America, where she is from.

The 13 is for her birthday - Dec. 13th.
I believe the apple had something to do with her father, my grandfather that passed away before I was born.

Someday, when I have children, and they grow up, I will pass this to one of them.

There's just 24 hours to go folks, so anyone with a submission should be thinking about getting it uploaded and anyone who hasn't yet taken a shot should be dusting off their favourite thing and photographing it.

There's a decent prize up for grabs and it's all to play for at this stage

Better late than never. CD's have saved my school life (a.k.a. deadlines) in the last few weeks numerous times.
