  • DP Now Salon Competition #103: Tall buildings

Hi folks, Thank you everyone for the chance given to me to choose the new Salon. I am very exited to see the result. It is a great honor and a challenging distraction of every day life.
I thought for this salon that I would like to see pictures related to architecture, but with some conditions. Pictures will be taken from tall buildings, meaning by that, for example, more than 6 floors. Preferably , skyscrapers, alone or grouped, encircled, falling, growing (being built), but fulfilling the criteria that the camera has to be pointing really upwards, meaning by that, that you have to point to the sky and have pain in your neck. All kind of lenses are allowed, as well as BW or color. Pictures might be taken on the streets or inside the buildings, but always looking upward too.
This salon will run for two weeks and close at midnight GMT- Sunday 27th of March.
    The rules are as follows:
    1. All photographs are to be uploaded to the photo gallery at http://dpnow.com/galleries/

Perhaps not the best but one to get the ball rolling:

The BT Tower in Birmingham (One from the archives this was March 2005).

Might as well throw in mine too. This is the Parliament Building Clock Tower, from the ant's POV, during Ottawa's annual tulip festival. Taken with my old Olympus ultrazoom compact.

Here's a refection on the theme. This is Bok Tower, at Bok gardens in Lake Wales FL., reflected in the surrounding pool. I'm not one for rules, so I looked down intead. Steve (fluffy) will recognize it. It is indeed a building, 205 ft tall, with rooms inside and a carillon at the top that gets played during the day as you walk through the park. If you come to Florida, you should see this place.
