Looking almost like some sort of alien spacecraft, this is the top of the Empire State Building in New York, taken from the observation deck

Here is an alternative take on the theme - not looking up, but looking down on a tall building, from the inside of another one!

This was taken in a restaurant quite high up a tower block in Tokyo back in 2008 and we were able to sit right next to the window and view the adjacent tower.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II in Milan. Considered the origin of the modern shopping mall. I don't know if the building meets the six story requirement - the top of the dome is 164 ft above street level - and I am sorry but I didn't meet the pain in the neck requirement; I was lying flat on the floor to take the shot. I was, however, most definitely looking up !

                Very nice, Kenton!

I have been known to lie the camera on the floor to get a shot like this

Bear beat me to it! There are no really tall buildings near me, the closest thing that I could find was this the lantern in the cathedral at Coutances in the Cotentin. Yes, I was lying on my back to take it, in the middle of the nave.

Hi guys. I forgot to consider the horizontal position on the floor. In that case the pain will move to some other place. Well done to everybody up to now. Really amazing pictures.Horacio.

This pic made me realize I hadn't been into the CBD for a long time to photograph things. Anyhow, it's Melbourne seen from the Yarra River near Federation Square.

THIS IS NOT MY ENTRY - Whilst we are talking Tall Buildings and I know some of you will have seen these before, but these Bamboo Scaffolders were not hooked on to this scaffolding (even though they were wearing harnesses) - they just hooked their legs around the bamboo.

There is a closeup in my gallery.

Wow, Autumn - that's some rather awesome workers, to say the least! I can barely stand on the top step of a ladder, and these guys are working on bamboo scaffolding? Untethered? At least ten storeys up? Not that I suppose the seemingly frail bamboo scaffolding'd provide much support should they fall, but wow - these guys are something else. Thank goodness for safety standards, eh?
