    Re: Digital Darkroom Suggestion ??

    Hi spl,

I like what you did with the crop and straightening but the image is still a bit yellow for me. I'd like to see what doing a white balance using the scale on the counter would look like.

I've already tried that Jim, it brings up the scales lovely, but the rest is still very yellow. I suspect the lighting in the shop is of the sodium type. I've always found it impossible to do much with it. The only other thing is that this may be a scan from a print, which I doubt would help

        Stephen,

I tried it and I got rid of nearly all the yellow color. I was reluctant to post the image back without asking spl. Spl, is it OK if I do that?

              Hi,
I went back to the original when I tried the white balance thing. If you started with the second image that may be the difference.

The mono does nothing fo me it just makes an interesting picture look dull. I like the adjustment you have made to the picture overall.

2nd edit. I am referring to the first fishing picture. I hadn't noticed the shop one when I wrote the comment.

Please feel free to do what you like with the pic including posting it back here - I would be interested to see your result because I agee it is still a bit yellow.

                    Hi spl,

I downloaded the original and worked with that. Using Paint Shop Pro XI, I did a little straightening, cropped, and then used the Color Balance tool with the scales on the shelf as the white point. Here's what I ended up with.

That is excellent yes - just goes to show there are many very good programmes out there
