Stephen and I have discussed this at length (he's more relaxed about it than I am! ) - basically I don't like the fact that there is an option to 'edit' watermarks, but in reality you are forced to save an edited version as a new watermark. It will get confusing and tedious with lots of unwanted different versions if you, like me, like to refine the style of your watermarks. I also don't like the fact that you can't preview the watermark in-situ. You can only see a marquee'd rendering of your watermark overlayed in a different resolution to your image detail, so the final result can look quite different.

I'm trusting that the new watermark (not marquee as originally typed!) system, although a definite improvement in what we had before, is still being worked on!

However, LR3 does have enhanced colour noise and sharpening processes. Luminance noise is disabled in the LR3 beta, so maybe we can expect an improved Luminance noise process later too.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that if you are importing a file where the Luminance has been altered on a previous version, then the Luminance slider in V3 becomes available. I've not tested it though

Sounds plausible - I will try that later.

How did you get the Luminance noise option to work? Mine is still disabled and checking for updates revealed nothing.

All I did was unistalled LR3 then I reinstalled it and downloaded the same collection of photos as before and the luminance is now enabled and working properly.
