Re: Vivid Eyes - Please critique
In my view its simply the fact its a brick wall harsh and not the prettiest thing in the world, and as the wall is out of focus, its very distracting.Originally posted by Gina View PostThank you Dave, what is it about the bricks - the colour?
I have seen this sort of composition done before in fact I have my own versions.
It works best with soft fabrics or netting that sort of thing give it another try the idea is worth pursuing.
Here is something I did a few years ago, taken with an Olympus E10.

Thank you Patrick for your comments.
I was just taking candid shots of my daughter and neice with wacky make up on, I wasn't trying to create a masterpiece that evening. I put it up for critique because I like the vivid colours. I agree what has been said about the wall being a harsh distraction though.
The beautiful image of Anna you show is stunning.
We all had a fun time anyway, photography can be fun and I try not to get too fussy about it sometimes.
Cheers

I understand you were having fun, and a good photographic idea has emerged. Get them in that wacky make-up again and some more suitable peak above/round props and you could come away with some stunning images, and have a lot more fun in the process.Originally posted by Gina View PostThank you Patrick for your comments.
