Re: Which is best?
Hi Jennifer,
nice portrait.
Just my preference notes.
The mono version looks to me the best.
The color version - the background is a bit noisy (not in the electronics sense) especially just in front of the face. That could distract viewers' attention from the portrait.
The cropped mono version - just too tightly cropped to my taste. Want some more space in front of the face.
If you are not satisfied with the first one, then I guess it might be more decent space in front of her face and not in the back.

Re: Which is best?
Nice portrait Jennifer.
My first thoughts were that I like the last one best, but on reading Yoshi and Stephen's notes, I think No 1 is the best and I like the minor adjustments Stephen has made.

Re: Which is best?
I'll agree with all the above. I'm unusual, in that I do prefer colour portraits, but Yoshi is right - the background is too 'busy'.
Like Audrey, I initially preferred the 3rd shot, but once again Stephen has shown how it can be done and his treatment is superb. (In other words, I prefer the 1st one!)

You're not on your own Caz, I normally prefer any type of coloured photograph.Originally posted by Caz View PostI'm unusual, in that I do prefer colour portraits
I think Jennifer has a seriously good photograph here and she should be very proud of it.

Looks as though I'm not destined to agree with anyone today
It's the second for me; I like the space in front of the subject and the landscape format. But in mono please, as it would reduce the impact of the OOF distractions.

Nice pics...I've gone for the arty option with this one, hope you don't mind!

Re: Which is best?
First of all congratulations on producing this novel approach to the portrait.
The mono for me and as for the crop I would fancy something between 1 and 3. 3 is interesting but maybe that little bit too close.
